TEDxFaurotPark 2022 Signature Event
Lima, OH – TEDxFaurotPark is back! We are pleased to announce our second TEDxFaurotPark signature event to be held October 1, 2022 at the Veterans Memorial Convention and Civic Center in Lima, Ohio.
Our theme for 2022 is Humanity, from the Latin humanitas for “human nature, kindness.”
The entire focus of any TED or TEDx event is “Ideas Worth Spreading.” TEDxFaurotPark speakers bring new research to the stage. They bring new ideas to the stage. They bring new ways of thinking about common issues. The goal is to foster learning, inspiration, wonder, to provoke conversations that matter while creating connection and community.
TEDxFaurotPark Speakers must adhere to four strict content guidelines. There is no corporate agenda. There is no political agenda. There is no religious agenda. And every speaker gets fact checked. There is no bad science on the TEDxFaurotPark stage.
This doesn’t mean speakers can’t talk about corporations or politics or religion. It simply means there is no agenda beyond spreading ideas. No one is “selling” from the stage. TEDxFaurotPark, like all TED and TEDx events, is completely independent.
The application process is the same for every potential TEDxFaurotPark speaker. They complete the online application found at TEDxFaurotPark.org. All applications are reviewed by our speaker selection team. Select applicants will be invited to the second round, which is an interview via zoom and the final speaker lineup will be publicly announced in May.
We are accepting applications for speakers until March 28, 2022.
Tickets will be available to the public at TEDxFaurotPark.org starting in August. In addition to the in-person event, TEDxFaurotPark will be live-streamed at Facebook.com/TEDxFaurotPark.
TEDxFaurotPark is dedicated to bringing a high level of intellectual discourse to the Lima/Allen County Ohio region. The TEDxFaurotPark 2022 theme is Humanity and will feature 8-10 speakers and their Ideas Worth Spreading. TEDxFaurotPark is a unique gathering in the Lima community that unleashes new ideas to inspire and inform. Find all the details at TEDxFaurotPark.org. Please contact Aimee Bucher, Executive Producer and TEDxFaurotPark license holder with any questions at TEDxFaurotPark@gmail.com or 419-234-6971.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading, often in the form of short talks delivered by leading thinkers and doers. Many of these talks are given at TED conferences, intimate TED Salons and thousands of independently organized TEDx events around the world. Videos of these talks are made available, free, on TED.com and other platforms. Audio versions of TED Talks are published to TED Talks Daily, available on all podcast platforms.
TED’s open and free initiatives for spreading ideas include TED.com, where new TED Talk videos are posted daily; TEDx, which licenses thousands of individuals and groups to host local, self-organized TED-style events around the world; the TED Fellows program, which selects innovators from around the globe to amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities; The Audacious Project, which surfaces and funds critical ideas that have the potential to impact millions of lives; TED Translators, which crowdsources the subtitling of TED Talks so that big ideas can spread across languages and borders; and the educational initiative TED-Ed. TED also offers TED@Work, a program that reimagines TED Talks for workplace learning. TED also has a growing library of original podcasts, including The TED Interview with Chris Anderson, WorkLife with Adam Grant, Far Flung with Saleem Reshamwala and How to Be a Better Human.
